posted by Clay on Mon, Sep 19th 2005I'll have a much more in depth convention report in my livejournal later on tonight, but I'll hit some highlights here. I got to meet some of the most talented people in web and traditional comics, and it was amazing. First off, Mike and Jerry of Penny Arcade are just about the nicest people I've ever met. I talked to Jerry for over an hour about webcomics, video games, and whatever else, and he didn't seem bored at all :). I also got to play some Meteos with him and it was an epic battle. I need to get him to play some Tetris Attack. When Mike wasn't busy giving out free sketches, he gave me some advice on tablet PCs. And drew a bitching sketch of Tycho and Ann. Frank Cho was uber busy, but I was still able to snag a signed copy of his latest sketchbook for Hampton. (Happy incredibly belated birthday, buddy) I also got to meet Robert Kirkman, who writes two of my favoritest books right now, Invincible and Walking Dead. The man's beard alone demands respect. A humongous thanks to Joe, Phil, and Irvsher of the Digital Pimp crew. I wouldn't have gotten to go if they didn't let me stay on their hotel room floor (They also got me a free pass too... thanks again Joe!). Finally I want to thank Brandon J. Carr of The Kenmore. He gave me a ride up, he hung out with me throughout the con, and he tolerated my horrible navigation skills.

Just so the winner knows, I'll probably be sending something else in the package with it so I don't feel like I'm ripping anyone off :) Yeah, I know it's for charity, but your $100+ should get you something more than a sketch and a print. 2 days left people! (Also, I know it says otherwise, but I'll ship it anywhere, not just the US)

posted by Hampton on Mon, Sep 19th 2005A bag of dollar bills doesn't really make fire turn purple...only bags of hundred dollar bills do that. Rob and Elliot are super rich now. How rich are they? Well, if, at the height of their cash flow, MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice's estates had sex and merged into one super rich estate then that would be cool. I got a free Jewish calendar at the Kroger today and it informed me that today is talk like a pirate day. So, call me Mad Harry Flint and come away with me in search of treasure! And then I'll betray you and bury the treasure in a cave for the Goonies to find! Heh, good ol' Data.
