It's Magic!

Happy Greeting Card Day!
There's nothing I like more than the commercialization of an emotion. Especially love! Now I know that Valentines day wasn't invented by Hallmark, they'd never be that clever. They took a cheap knock-off of the Roman holiday, Lupercalia (Feb, 15th), and turned it into a money-making machine that helps ease the doldrums between Christmas and Easter. They sell pseudo-sentiments on cheap paper for 4 bucks a pop. Now don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with a day celebrating Love. I love Love. But I have a problem with a corporation dictating how we should express it. Namely with overpriced candy, worthless cards, and flowers... Ok, the flowers are kind of nice. They can stay. Now before all you happy couples get on my case for hating on your favoritest holiday, I don't think the holiday should be done away with all together, I just think you guys should try to express your love in a way that is unique and maybe has just a bit of thought put into it. A teddy bear with heart boxers as sold by the voice of Adam Corolla won't cut it. Personally, I think the greeting card industry should be forced to try and sell Lupercalia. I'd like to see how they'd market a festival which has boys run around mostly naked, whipping young girls on the thighs with bloody strips of goat-hide, and culminates with a lottery style pairing off of the city's bachelors with the available young women. At least you would stop hearing complaints from single people...
That being said, I'd like to wish my girlfriend a happy Valentines' Day :)
Lovely to love your lovin'
Love is in the air. I have wanted to get back to the Elliot and Noel relationship for a while. After the iMonkey strips, Clay and I felt it was time to touch base with Elliot’s life outside his roommate. It just so happened to coincide with Valentines Day. I just felt lately it has become the Rob show featuring Elliot. I had intended from the beginning to give a real storyline of love interest along with the crazy screwball antics. So here’s hoping I can pull this off convincingly. Oh by the way, Elliot apparently knows stage magic. Yeah it’s out of left field but that’s just how I roll. Anyway, yeah Valentine’s Day is pretty commercial but only as much as you make it. I like to hold random “love days” around the year with whomever I am with. So that way we get several Valentine’s like days. I would like to take this opportunity to say happy Valentine’s Day to my girlfriend also. Three dates down, we made it baby! Now go snuggle up to that special someone by the fire and get on the computer and look through this site together.
Drained
This week of work has left me really drained and I can't bear to look at a computer screen right now. The comic will be up sometime tomorrow. Sorry for the wait.
